Newlyweds move to NYC!

One week ago, my adventurous husband and I made the exciting/scary/stressful/inspiring move to New York City. We are both in our mid-twenties (well, perhaps late-twenties...), have the desire to grow as artists, and enjoy all the diversity and culture the city has to offer.

Kenny and I started dating in 2006, got engaged a few years later and got married last May. After much discussion, we decided to leave our comfy lives in the suburbs of Glen Allen, Va and move to the Big Apple! In order to do so, I re-signed from my full-time job as a high school theatre teacher and Kenny researched the idea of working his IT job remotely. One month ago, we visited Astoria, Queens to view apartments and luckily found an amazing spot right across from Astoria Park! We signed a lease that day while learning we had less than three weeks to pack up all of our stuff and drive a moving truck to our new home.

Moving from a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house to a one-bedroom apartment is no easy feat. Fortunately, we have amazing family and friends who helped us along the way!

Moving Day - My older brother, Remi, got these great shots!

Almost there....

Love this picture of my younger brother, Dewi.

Unloading the truck! With 8 people it's not so bad. :)

Can't forget my aloe plant!

After unloading the truck, we walked across the street to enjoy Astoria Park - literally in our front yard!

Not sure what life has in store for us in New York, but looking forward to finding out.
